REGENERATION TECHNIQUES – VITAL PULP THERAPY – APEXIFICATION

Endodontic treatment (denervation) is not always the solution for all cases of deep caries. With the use of minimally invasive techniques and bioceramic materials, such as MTA and Biodentine, it is often possible to maintain the vitality of the pulp through vital pulp therapy.

In cases of nerve necrosis, we can proceed with the creation of an apex or the activation of root growth (apexification or apexogenesis). The use of bioceramic materials in combination with the optical microscope plays a decisive role in achieving the optimal therapeutic effect, ensuring precision and long-term success.

Frequently Asked Questions about Endodontic Treatment and Vitality Preserving Techniques

It is a procedure that allows maintaining the health of the nerve of the tooth, using bioceramic materials, such as MTA and Biodentine, to repair the damage without the need for denervation.

When tooth decay or trauma has partially damaged the pulp, but the nerve remains alive and free of infection.

It is a technique applied in cases where the nerve has died, and its aim is to create a "dam" at the end of the root so that the tooth can be sealed

  • Apexification: Applied when the nerve has died, to close the end of the root.
  • Apexogenesis: Used in living pulp to enhance natural root growth.

They are biocompatible, promote healing, prevent infection, and provide an excellent seal while maintaining tooth vitality.

When the nerve has died or when the inflammation has extended to such an extent that it is not possible to restore the function of the pulp.
